Summer Skincare Routine

Summer is finally here which means new season new facial products! With the more hot and humid air, I thought I would update you with my new skin care regime.

Quick disclaimer as always, everyone has different skin, what works for me may not work for you. My skin is combination but does get a little dewier in the summer, which means my goal is to keep it more mattified and clean. If you are interested in seeing the products I love, keep on reading!

I always start my skincare routine by taking off as much makeup as I can and I do that with about a teaspoon of coconut oil. Nothing fancy, just coconut oil from your local grocery store! I'll take the oil and rub it between my hands until it is a liquid consistency and then just rub it all over my face. You can literally see your makeup sliding off, it's the best. I use coconut oil as opposed to micellar water because it just feels so much better on my skin, and I love the smell.

After I wipe all the coconut oil off, I'll use my Biore Cleanser. I've been on and off of this for years, but I just keep going back to it solely because I haven't found a cleanser that strips all of my makeup off and feels so refreshing.

After my face is fully clean, I'll use (not pictured here) my Aveda Acne Pads. They are a small circular damp pad with grooves to help get rid of excess dead skin. I use this as a toner, to prep my skin before I moisturize.

For a moisturizer I use Clear Difference Oil Control Gel by Estee Lauder. It is on the pricier side, but it is what works for my skin and makes me feel refreshed and hydrated!

After I moisturize (at night only) I'll use my Advanced Night Repair Cream by Estee Lauder for my eyes. I love this stuff, it is so hydrating and just feels super rich on the skin. Not to mention you wake up with virtually no bags under your eyes. It's a miracle worker.

Lastly I have two products I use on occasion. If my skin gets too dried out or if it is looking a little dull, I'll use my Ole Henricksen Truth Serum. I can't use this everyday because my skin is on the oilier side so I'll just get oily and break out. However, if I'm drier than normal or dull, this gives my skin life, I swear I glow after using it.

I use the Kate Somerville acne treatment only when I have big breakouts on my face, similar to the Mario Badescu acne treatment, this stuff just dries out your blemish in an instant. Usually I'll cotton swab this onto my breakouts before bed and wakeup with them less prominent.

That is it! These are all the products I currently use on my face - aside from a few face masks. In addition to this skin care regime I also see a facialist at least once a month to really get deep into my skin, and draw out any impurities.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post and took away a few pointers. See you in my next post!
