How to Keep That Summer Glow All Winter Long

The smell of Jergens natural glow will forever remind me of my high school change room. Those brave enough to break a sweat during grade 11 dodgeball oozed the sweet scent of orange peroxide for the remainder of the day. I was the main culprit contributing to such an odor. It’s the ying and the yang of the fake tan epidemic. We take the good with the bad. A quick cost benefit analysis would make it clear to even an untrained eye that the benefits of indulging in fake tanning far outweigh the costs. I mean, what’s a little odor when you get to look 5 shades darker and 10 pounds lighter all season long?

Often people associate fake tanning with words such as “tacky” or “trashy” – but here’s a news flash for you – everyone hot you know is doing it. So, if you can’t beat em, join em! That’s what I did at the young age of 13 when my fake tan addiction blossomed. Needless to say, I’ve tried every method in the book and have finally got the routine down to a science. Simultaneously, I’ve also taken about 10 years off my life with the constant application of toxins directly to my skin but nothing worth having comes easy – am I right ladiesss??

I’m going to tell it to you straight – I’ve tried the St. Tropez’s, the Lancôme’s, the Bali Body’s, and the L’Oréal’s of fake tanning and time and time again I find myself hunched over in shopper’s aisle number 6 reaching for the good good – Jergans Natural Glow baby!

My preferred method of tanning is to go the gradual tan route. I want to look tan at all times, not only for special events. Putting on gradual tan every other day after the shower is far more convenient for me than dealing with that one and done business where you have to apply it with a glove and then let it sit on your skin for 6 hours. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

For a quick 6.99 a tube of Jergans gets the job done just as good as its more expensive counterparts. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. First things first you’ll need to exfoliate. Grab a loofahs and some coconut scrub and just go to town every other day in the shower paying special attention to places like your elbows and knees.

On the days that you exfoliated apply Jergens all over your body. Its best to go easy with the product around your wrists, elbows, knees, and ankles because product CAN and WILL build up in all those little wrinkly crevasses and let me tell you it’s not a good look.

I like to apply tan at night about 30 minutes before getting in to bed. That way it can sink into your skin overnight AND lets you leave that fake tan stank in the sheets!

So slather up ladies and look your best this sunless winter season!
