Highly accomplished and globally recognized Canadian designer HENDRIXROE showcased her latest menswear and womenswear collection INNERBLOOM at Toronto Fashion Week this past Wednesday and it was a night remember. As any HENDRIXROE runway, an exceptional experience is always expected and this season, as always, she did not disappoint. With top performing artists such as K-OS, Jazz Cariter, and Unimerce, as well as a notable audience, HENDRIXROE had all who attended enthralled.

This year Jordan Erin McKay's S/S19 collection INNERBLOOM was as stunning as it was sentimental. Exploring the struggle of mental health issues and overcoming darkness with joy, it conveyed a movement of progression - to continue on a journey when you feel like giving up. A powerful message conveyed by a powerful collection. Through her pieces on Wednesday night, we bared witness to her, as she stated with Magnet Creative, "shedding the old, the comfortable and reinventing herself."

It was such an honour to watch such an elegant yet vibrant collection and to witness first hand a compelling story walk down the runway. With that, from the collection we managed to narrow down some of the top trends. From pops of colour to floral details, here are the biggest trends that we caught from HENDRIXROE's S/S19 runway.

Transparent Statement Pieces

This season HENDRIXROE's runway was full of unique and bold transparent pieces. Focusing on fabrication this season with a juxtaposition of textures (such as PVC and latex), she showcased colourful greens and statement pinks, creating lavish and eccentric looks. We loved the layering of the transparent pieces on suiting, giving it that extra edge.

Soft Pink

Focusing on solid colours inspired by the “magic hour” we absolutely fell in love with the use of soft pinks on the runway. Full monochrome looks made a statement, while pops of soft pink on florals gave a more delicate feel.

Camel Leather

Step aside black leather jacket because we have a new staple leather for Spring and Summer 2019. Adding sophistication and dimension to multiple looks on the runway, we fell in love with the use of camel as a staple leather jacket colour.

It wouldn't be HENDRIXROE without some stunning sequin pieces! We loved the head-to-toe sequin suiting in addition to pops of sequin throughout the show. It definitely made for some head turning looks.

Floral Pattern

A refreshing addition to the collection, we saw a number of floral pieces strut the runway. From vests to jackets, the addition of floral added Spring flare while exuding the colours inspired by HENDRIXROE's “magic hour”.

Flowy Maxi's

A look that really took our breathe away on the HENDRIXROE runway was her flowy maxi's. Long and luscious they are a staple that you can rock all year round.

Vibrant Suiting

When it comes to adding colour on the runway, HENDRIXROE is never afraid to make a statement. Vibrant suiting was a common trend we saw on the runway that caught our attention. Worn effortlessly on its own or paired with an oversized jacket, it's a trend we'll be rocking for S/S19.

Animal Print

We love a strong animal print and this season HENDRIXROE knocked it out of the park. Paired with a large duster it demanded attention while looking effortlessly chic. If you're looking to spice up your everyday look, try rocking pattern on pattern as shown on the runway.
