What would a Fall season be without some autumnal coloured lippies to go along with the changing colours of the trees? When we think Fall, we think warm, earthy, and cozy. Fall is the crunchy red and orange leaves on the ground. It’s the pumpkin pie and candy apples, the wool cardigans in shades of cranberry and pointed leopard print booties. Fall is most definitely one of our favourite seasons and that’s partly because we get to rock some beautifully bold red, purple, and brown tones of lipsticks and still look super cute doing it.
This week we have some Fall inspired lipsticks to share with you—some of these are staple picks we’ve discovered in the past and can’t live without. But we also took to the streets of Toronto to hunt down some of the latest lipsticks launches…you’re going to have to make some room on your beauty shelves for these amazing additions. We’ll start with a few oldies because they are deserving of our love year after year, but make sure to keep reading to find out about the latest launches we have fallen in love with and that go with that chunky knit sweater you've been saving for Fall!
Sephora Collection Cream Liquid Lipstick
We LOVE these affordable liquid lipsticks by Sephora Collection. If you want a comfortable lipstick that will last hours and survive several meals, you need to grab one of these. Our favourite Fall shade has to be this cinnamon red-orange—you just can’t go wrong.
Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick
This shade is described as a deep orange, and it’s exactly that. We love the burnt orange makeup trend and the shade Out Loud is dark enough to look good on everyone—even if you don’t like orange lipsticks. Maybe this is the year you’ll try something new and experiment with bold hues. Smashbox definitely made us fall in love.
BLACK UP Matte Jumbo Lip Pencil
This jumbo lip pencil by Black Up Cosmetics is the creamiest matte lip product that has ever blessed our lips. They’ve named the shade “mat caramel” and it’s exactly that—a warm caramel resembling the drizzle topping on your salted caramel mocha. This shade is a perfect in-between for those of you who can’t yet rock a bold orange, but you still want to dip your toes into the world of warmer fall hues. This is essentially a dark nude with orange undertones, so it’s not as daring. Everything about this pencil is phenomenal: from the shade, to its comfortable wear, and the longevity of the product—all of which make it one of our all time favourite lipstick choices when Fall rolls around.
Charlotte Tilbury Superstar Lips
Now let’s get into the latest and greatest. This new launch by Charlotte Tilbury is a pigmented glossy lipstick, so if you’re not into the drying liquid lipsticks, this will keep your lips hydrated during a dry Fall and Winter while still providing you with just the right amount of colour. The shade Walk of Shame is a berry rose pink and it’s a perfect bold berry tone that will look amazing with any fall outfit. It’s a limited edition so grab it while you can!
Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint
We have to include a Rihanna product—not only because it’s Rihanna, but also because it’s a beautiful and great quality product. The latest Fenty launch includes a range of Stunna Lip Paints, and we are head over heels for the shade Unveil. This is a TRUE chocolate brown, ladies and gentlemen. Fall motivates us to try darker shades that are sometimes difficult to wear all year round. So if you’re looking for a brown lipstick without the popular grey undertones, this is the shade you’re going to want.
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture The Slim Matte Lipstick
The new non-drying creamy matte formula by YSL Beauty is stunning. Trust us. If you’re looking for a dark, red wine coloured lipstick to wear with your oversized turtleneck sweaters this fall, the shade Reverse Red is a beautiful bordeaux that won’t fall short of your expectations.
NARS Spiked Audacious Lipstick
NARS never disappoints, which is why we had to have this limited edition Audacious Lipstick in the shade Siouxsie. If you’re still not convinced of our orange, brown, and red recommendations, then deep plum shades are also a great colour to rock all Fall and Winter long. This lipstick is a beautiful burgundy with purple undertones which pairs perfectly with any skin tone. The original autumnal audacious lipstick shades by NARS would have made it on this list anyway—obviously we were ecstatic to see that they had launched a brand new shade in this super cool red packaging. It reminds us of both red crunchy leaves and Christmas morning so we might have to gift a few of these.
