Stranger Things Season 3: How To Steal The Looks

It’s finally here! Our favourite kids from Hawkins are back, with more adventure, romance, and of course, monsters. Since making its debut back in 2016, the Netflix original has gained a huge fanbase that continues to grow. Taking place in the 1980’s the show pays homage to pop culture, referencing many iconic figures of the decade including Stephen King and Steven Spielberg. While the previous seasons have been quite dark with its intense storyline and supernatural elements, the third season takes place one year after the events of the previous season, during the summer. With the kids having turned into teens, many things are changing. From relationships to fashion, the lead characters are growing up and facing many more challenges along the way. What makes the show so lovable is the accurate representation of what it was like living in the ‘80s (without the Demogorgons, of course).

Of course, as a fashion publication we are obsessing over the fun colours and retro feel the characters give us, and we’re here to show you how to bring it back!

Opt For Bold Pattern

This upcoming season is bigger and bolder just like the heavy-patterned clothing the characters are wearing. To add to the light-hearted theme of summer, go big with patterns and make it fun! Levi’s released a Stranger Things collection which includes the Aztec-print top mimicking the one Eleven is seen wearing in the trailer for the upcoming season.

With summer in full swing, it’s bound to get hot! Eleven and Max are seen sporting scrunchies this season to keep their hair up in bright colours to match their clothes! Scrunchies are back in style and popular as ever, and are a cute way to tie your hair up without the tug and pull. Bright-coloured scrunchies are the perfect summer accessory!

Retro Inspired Sneakers

Popular sports brand Nike has also collaborated with the show in honour of the release of the third season, having released a collection of sneakers and apparel based on Hawkins. In the show, all the kids are always wearing sneakers, which is expected of kids who go on adventures to fight monsters of course. The collection features the Hawkins High School logo embedded on the products, along with the classic Nike logo. Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas Sinclair on the show, was seen sporting the Air Tailwind 79 from the collection during his appearance on Jimmy Fallon.

Striped Tee's

Stripes are a classic pattern that never gets old, just ask Mike Wheeler! As the character who probably wears stripes the most throughout the show, it looks like this summer, other boys and girls are joining him in adding more stripes to their closets. Simple yet classic.

Quirky Suspender

Keep your trousers up with style! Go vintage with suspenders and overalls. You’ll look as snazzy as ever, and Eleven has proved it.

One Piece Swimsuits

Hit the pool and bring back those Baywatch vibes! One-piece swimsuits were more common than your typical two-piece bikinis back in the ‘80s, but that doesn’t mean they’re any less stylish! Fashion brand H&M released a Stranger Things collection ahead of the third season premiere, which was endorsed by Dacre Montgomery himself, who plays this season’s main antagonist Billy Hargrove. This swimsuit is inspired by the same one that lifeguard Heather wears at the community pool while working with Billy.
